Habitat for Humanity helps build strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter in local communities and around the world. Help change lives and the future of a Muncie family. Volunteers will be working at one of our new-construction home builds in the South Central area of Muncie (near the intersection of Memorial and Walnut). No special skills, tools or experience required - our Construction Site supervisors will have everything volunteers will need on-site. Activities might require the ability to sit, kneel, stand, and lift light-moderate weight but accommodations can be made otherwise. Volunteers must wear a face mask, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and casual clothing for this service project. Lunch and BSU t-shirts will be provided.

The Nursing Alumni Society will be collecting personal hygiene items to donate to the Red Cross for use in comfort bags. Comfort bags are handed out to residents in the event of a disaster. These bags contain personal hygiene items for adults and children in travel sizes, so they are easily transported and manageable for the recipients. Suggestions include: shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, lotion, comb/brush, deodorant, disposable razor, wash clothes. Free personal hygiene items from hotel stays or a dentist office are welcome if they are unopened. Please label bagged donations with your name, email, and grad year to make sure your participation is counted.

Habitat for Humanity ReStores sell home improvement items to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter in local communities and around the world. In this role, you would be unloading and building boxed furniture in a warehouse large enough for social distancing. Activities might require the ability to sit, kneel, stand, and lift light-moderate weight but accommodations can be made otherwise. Volunteers must wear a face mask, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and casual clothing for this service project. Free parking with wheelchair accessibility will be available on site. Minimum age of 16 to participate. All volunteers must also sign up for the shift at the VolunteerHub and sign a waiver form; those under 18 must include a signature by a parent or guardian.
